How do I set the writing tone of my articles?

Set the writing tone and style per site, so your future articles sound like you.

You can set the tone used in your articles, formal or casual, professional or relaxed. It applies to every future article generated for that site.

Where to set it

Tone is configured per site:

  1. Click your profile in the bottom left corner, then Settings.
  2. Under Workspace, open Sites.
  3. Pick the site.
  4. Open the Writing tab.
  5. Fill in the Tone field, for example "Professional, direct, no jargon".

The Style & structure field goes further on form: sentence length, bullet lists, paragraph size, how to open and close.

Both fields accept several lines: the more specific you are, the closer the result.

What it changes, and when

The setting applies to new articles generated after the change. Articles already written stay as they are.

You can also ask in the chat to update a site's tone: the agent can edit these settings. And if you find values you never typed, that is expected: the automatic site analysis may have filled them in.

An article that ignores the tone you set

It happens. Message us in the chat: if it is on us, we credit back the credit used and run the generation again.
