Connecting ChatSEO to WordPress: what you need to know
Link your WordPress site to ChatSEO to publish articles as drafts or live, with no copy-paste.
You can publish articles generated in ChatSEO straight to your WordPress site, as a draft or live.
Where the connection happens
The connection is set up per site:
- Click your profile in the bottom left corner, then Settings.
- Under Workspace, open Sites.
- Pick the site.
- Open the CMS tab, then click the WordPress tile.
One-click connection
In most cases a single button does it: Connect with WordPress. You are sent to your site to authorise access, and that is it.
If your host does not support it, the manual form appears instead. You then enter:
- your WordPress site URL, for example
https://mysite.com; - your WordPress username, the one you use for wp-admin;
- an Application Password, generated in WordPress under Users → Profile → Application Passwords.
Paste the generated string (the xxxx xxxx xxxx one), not the name you gave the password.
The ChatSEO plugin: useful, not required
A second step offers to install the ChatSEO plugin. Publishing works without it, through the native WordPress REST API. The plugin adds:
- conversion to Gutenberg blocks instead of flat HTML;
- writing SEO meta into Yoast, RankMath or AIOSEO;
- editing Elementor content.
To install it: download it, upload it under Plugins → Add New → Upload, activate it, then click Check installation.
Publishing an article
Once the site is connected, the Publish button appears in the article editor, and Publish to WordPress at the foot of the article. When publishing, you choose:
- Publish live to put it online straight away;
- Save as draft to review it in WordPress first.
If the article was already published, these become Update (live) and Update (draft).
You can also pick the content type (post or page), the author, categories and tags.
Remember to attach your conversation to a site first: without one, the button tells you so.
Other CMSs
WordPress and Shopify are connectable today. The other CMSs in the list show Coming soon.
